Another job for the company ZPAV (Audio Video Producers Association), this time to install a new server application that supports the needs of customers ZPAVu, an application written in PHP and MySQL, so in theory there should be no problem.

Began searching for the culprit, repeatedly recompile apache, php, change settings, mysql, unfortunately, all without success. The application was created in the Windows environment while the production server was a Linux system, so suspicion fell on the incompatibility of Linux applications. Tests were performed on a machine running CentOS Linux distribution. The result was three times better than on the target machine. The only thing left is to reinstall the system chosen by us, the CentOS version 5.3. The system installed in virtually default to, retrofitted Apache, PHP, MySql version as the previous installation. Result: two times better than using Mandriva. What was the exact cause is not known, perhaps Mandriva distribution has some specific settings in the management of disks (RAID1 array) |
