In July 2009, we contacted the owner of Innsys Inc. of Toronto, Canada. His company provides services for access to the internet and VOIP services to approximately 350 customers (80% of the company).

To date, the company used the services Innsys outside the company offering hosting servers. To reduce costs, and increase its capabilities (support for more clients) Innsys company decided to conduct their own server.

We were asked to configure five servers that would handle all the services provided by InnSys Inc.

Selected Dell equipment, we used three high-end servers and two Dell PowerEdge R510 PowerEdge class servers r805, which were used as the basis for virtualization infrastructure.

On each of the servers installed CentOS Linux operating system version 5.3, which in North America is much more widespread than in Europe. Installed applications on the servers are two systems of e-mail (postfix) with support for antivirus, antispam, Web-based access, etc, the system RADIUS authentication allows users access (we used a system of FreeRADIUS), ISPConfig version 3 on two servers that act as high-availability cluster, one of the servers has been designed as a typical database server (installed in the database: MySQL, Postgres). The next task was to complete the system configuration Asterix and the transfer of all data from the previous location.

The last step is to connect Internet connections, Innsys decided on two symmetrical links, each with a capacity of 1GB (yes, that in Poland we are missing), one link was from a local prowaidera (copper) and one from the company BellCanada (fiber). The point of contact was a Cisco 7204 router.

The entire project lasted almost 2 months and was very successful.
